Guimarães City Council

The Municipality of Guimarães is one of Portugal’s most emblematic cities, recognized for its historical and cultural heritage. Its Historic Centre has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001. The city also places a strong emphasis on sustainability and innovation, having been designated European Green Capital 2026 and awarded the EU Mission Cities label for its commitment to carbon neutrality by 2030.

Guimarães deeply values a sense of belonging and active citizen participation, which contribute directly to the city’s sustainable development and future. 

Laboratório da Paisagem

The Laboratório da Paisagem – Association for the Promotion of Sustainable Development is a research and environmental education institution founded in 2014, resulting from a partnership between the Municipality of Guimarães, the University of Minho, and the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. It also involves several civil society partners who share a commitment to promoting the sustainable development of the territory. 

Lisbon City Council

The Lisbon City Council (CML) is the local authority responsible for managing and developing the city of Lisbon, Portugal’s capital. Its mission is to promote citizen well-being, ensuring a sustainable, inclusive, and resilient city. CML operates across urban planning, environment, climate action, mobility, housing, energy, culture, and citizen participation, collaborating in national and international projects that drive innovation and climate transition. 

Porto Ambiente

Founded in 2017 under delegation from the Municipality of Porto, Porto Ambiente is Porto’s municipal environmental company, responsible for urban waste management and public space cleaning. Porto Ambiente promotes environmental and economic sustainability and enhances the quality of life for all who live, visit, work, or study in Porto. 

Porto Digital

Porto Digital acts as a support entity for urban digital transformation, serving the city of Porto and contributing to accelerating the implementation of Innovation and Digital Transition strategies. Established to connect, co-create, and collaborate, it promotes the efficiency of public services, with a real impact on citizens’ quality of life, guiding its actions towards sustainable and inclusive development.

IN+ – Centro de Estudos em Inovação, Tecnologia e Políticas de Desenvolvimento

The IN+ Centre for Innovation, Technology and Development Policy Studies is a research centre at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, dedicated to promoting sustainable transition, technological innovation, and better public policies. Its work combines science, technology, and development policy to support solutions for global challenges in energy, environment, mobility, and urban sustainability. 

Porto City Council

Porto is the epicentre of a region with over 1.7 million inhabitants — the Porto Metropolitan Area — and is the 4th most populous municipality in Portugal and the 3rd in population density. The city of Porto, which corresponds to the entire municipality, is small relative to its metropolitan area, with an estimated population of 231,800 inhabitants (2021) over just 41.42 km². 

AdEPorto

AdEPorto – Porto Energy Agency is a private non-profit association with public utility status. Its mission aligns with national and European objectives on decarbonization, energy efficiency, tackling energy poverty, and promoting renewable energy production. AdEPorto focuses on promoting sustainable development in its area of action, the Porto Metropolitan Area – North of Douro (AMP-ND).
